Some of my Payers still use a Dial-up Modem to receive files, do I need a Modem?
No.  SolAce will deliver your claims using our Modems.  The real advantage of that to you, in addition to not having to have a dedicated phone line just to submit claims, is that we will make multiple attempts to send the files for you.  If there is a failure on the receiving side, we will notify you.
Can I import my files into SolAce via a Secure FTP connection?
Yes .  There are a number of free FTP software packages available that we recommend, but generally speaking we can simply work with your package as well.  Contact us if you need some recommendations or help setting up your FTP software.
FTP configurations seems complicated, what other options do you provide?
We support two other very simple file transmission methods;
  • Browser based file transfer allows you to grab the file that you want to import into SolAce with a few clicks on your browser.  The directory location will default to the last directory you uploaded files from.
  • WebDAV makes new folders show up on your desktop as if you had added a USB device to your computer.  Simply drag and drop your files into these folders and they will be  imported into your SolAce application automatically.
Does SolAce support attachments?
Sort of.  SolAce allows you to enter a unique PaperWork Control Number (PWK) that will be inserted into your claim file (837).  Unfortunately there is no standard ‘HIPAA’ supported method for ensuring that a Payer can receive electronically submitted attachments.  We are happy to work with any Payer directly on a one by one basis and we continue to monitor developments in this area.  In the mean time you should work closely with your  payer, use the PWK in SolAce and make sure that you reference that ID on any transmitted attachments that you send to your payer whether it is by FAX, Mail, E-Mail or any other method your payer supports.  If your Payer supports the electronic submission of attachments and is willing to work with us, please contact us and we will do our best to implement a solution for that situation.
Can I import an 837 file into SolAce?
Yes you can.  In fact, many of our Clients do this.  The reasons are varied, but for the most part vendor Practice Management Systems and billing packages do a poor job of supporting all of the complexities involved in creating a compliant and comprehensive 837 file.  For instance, many PMS’s cannot fully support the ability to create secondary or tertiary claims.  Other reasons might include missing situation field values such as those required to support a transportation or DME or home health claim. SolAce allows you to fill in all those gaps and get reimbursed correctly
